Today I was checking in with my daughter about how her school day was. I was asking the routine questions and she was pulling goofy faces at me. It went on for a few minutes.
So I asked her 'Are you this happy?'
She simply said 'Yes.... happiest in the whole world!'
I followed up with a question, 'Are you not sad?'
She quickly replied 'No, sometimes I am, when my friends do bad things.'
I was stunned. Oh that answer... the layers... the meaning ... the truth etc..
If left alone all of us will be happy beings. But it doesn't matter to us. For most of us happiness is defined mostly on what others do or don't do and how we feel about all that and how it affects us.
But I guess to her its just a yes or no. And I really wish it stays that way.
